I cant remember yesterday let alone what has happened since 1969. Got married had kids got divorced. Moved to Alaska in 1979. Got married and had his kids and my kids. We both worked in the oil industry for years. I was a health and safety officer for an environmental co.I was a consultant to Exxon for the Exxon Valdez oil spil. Worked all phases of the clean up. hubby is a boss in the oil fields up north in Phrudoe Bay. It is as far north as you can get in Alaska. I gave up my job to stay closer to home when they were going to send me to Saudi Arabia . Now in my golden years I drive a school bus and love it. I have my summers off and hollidays ect. We also farm here in Alaska. We have a private owned horse rescue and have 21 horses right at this moment. I am a volunteer board memeber for Alaska Equine Rescue, we service the entire state. WE also raise longhorn cattle.
We have 18 grandchildren with one on the way. Ages 19-5. What a blessing they are.
My passion is my horses. I love riding and doing the rodeo playdays and team penning. This year I am joining the National Barrel Racing assoc. and try to compete at a higher level. I also do some training using the natural horsemanship methods and teach kids how to ride.
I have a knack for rehabilitating abused aniamls and have no clue where this all came from.
Matt and I have been marrreid 20 years and I have met my match and life time partner. He is a good man !! We use to do alot of hunting and fishing up here . Still enjoy the fishing but hnting is way too much work. Love my bed not so fond of sleeping under a tree in the mountains wondering if a bear is going to come into camp.
We have a home on 50 acers and we farm over 100 acers. I also "won" in a land lottery a 40 acer homestead way up north. We built a cabin there. What a challenge since there are no roads to it. No water so power nothing. It is our getaway.
Life is good but hard up here. Winters are long, cold and dark. Summers can be wonderful. And no matter what time of the year it is, it is breathtaking. I do hope to move out of here at least for the winters in the near future.
Ive been as far north as you can get, got my feet wet in the Artic Ocean were the polar bears live. Been to the Artic circle and to North Pole Alaska..it is Christmas year round there !!
Well thats all for now folks!! Come visit sometime !
